Artificial Knee Joints
This is a comparison of a CAD file and the scanned image of artificial knee. The gray area is the CAD file. The colored areas are the height differential between the CAD file and the scanned part. Each color represents a different height difference. The scanning system can detect differences as small as 10µ.This technology can be applied to other machined and cast parts, such as gears, turbine blades for jet engines, etc.
