Click on images to enlargeLVR created a system to monitor profiles of side door panel trim for pickup trucks. If the profile is not correct, then it will not fit properly on the vehicle. The process was a continuous extrusion, so the monitoring had to be done continuously after cooling of the trim. A three dimensional monitor kept track of locations along the profile and would give a green bar of length equal to the number of points along the profile that were in specification, yellow for the number that were near out of specification, and red for the number out of specification.
